My husband purchased a program from Sam's; the program was already on our computer from last year. Can we get credit for the payment made for the purchase?

Not quite sure what you are asking for. Each year there is new software written for the specific tax year. You cannot use a 2021 software program to prepare a 2022 tax return. Are you saying the computer from Sam's has 2021 TurboTax on it? That would not help you for 2022. For 2022 you need the 2022 program.
