Question

My husband's self-employment income: I type in $1,000 and form shows amount as $1,200. Twice. It keeps coming up wrong. Am I doing something to cause this?

Possibly other revenue is linked to his self-employment.

Try these steps to see other possible sources for income:

  • From the left menu, select
  • Federal>Income & Expenses>
  • Scroll down to Income from Form 1099-MISC click Edit/Add

Depending on how Form 1099-MISC is entered, it could link to the rest of your self-employment income. This is appropriate. If the $1,000 includes the 1099-MISC already posted, just enter $800 instead in the self-employment section so the income is not "double-dipped."
