Question

My IRS bank debit authorized on May 17 has not cleared my bank. State did. Is it possible to get proof that I authorized the payment on May 17?

Contact the bank and find out why the payment did not clear.  They may be able to provide you with a statement that you can give the IRS if you need to contest a penalty for paying late.
