My MD refund was $199 an it just came back and I only received $149 which is $50 short. Were is the different?

I didn't add/buy anything extra, so there shouldn't be a cost to file.

A possibility is that your refund was reduced by the government, either to correct an error or through a refund offset.

You'll get an explanatory letter (in about two weeks) from the government if your refund differs from what was on your filed return.
