My NC state income tax refund from 2019 was $996. However Turbo Tax is showing it as $153 when it shows me my total income for 2019? Why is there a difference?

Are you saying that your NC State refund was $996 on the return that you just filed or are trying to file?  Or that was the refund you received in 2019 for your 2018 NC State Tax Return?
