Question

My oldest daughter is in college. Do I use her tuition papers on my taxes or does she? I’m claiming her as a dependent

If you are claiming her as a dependent and you had out of pocket expenses that would make you eligible for a tax benefit, then that information goes you your tax return.  One way to tell this is if her tuition (Box 1 on Form 1098T) was more than her grants and scholarships (Box 5 on Form 1098T).

If she had a taxable scholarship (Box 5 is more than Box 1), then that is reported on her tax return.

You will enter the information, either way, under the section for Deductions & Credits and then Education.
