My parents gave me $3,000.00 last summer to help me pay for housing and parking at my college. Do I need to report this?

No. Gifts are not reported on a tax return.

No you do not have to enter money your parents gave to you on a tax return.   Gifts you receive are not taxable and do not get entered on your tax return.
