Question

My refund from NC in 2019 was $480. When I enter this in the State Tax Refund Summary, it doubles to $960 when I hit DONE. Is this a glitch?

There has been an issue with unemployment doubling when entered on a mobile device. Apparently, the process ended up creating two 1099-Gs.

Since state refunds are also reported on a 1099-G, you might look to see if there are two 1099-Gs with the same numbers.

Delete the form in one of two ways:

1. On the left (this is in Online, I don't how this appears on a mobile device), click on Tools, then click on Tax Tools, then in the center slick on Delete a Form, then go down until you see 1099-Gs and delete one. - OR -

2. In Personal Income, look under Other Common Income for "State and Local Tax Refunds on form 1099-G and click on the Start or Update button and see if you can see a table of 1099-G entries...use the Delete button or the trash can to remove the extra one.

If this is not your situation, come back and tell us.
