Question

My refund keeps getting rejected for the 1095-A form. I have insurance but not through Marketplace. How do can i get them to accept my refund without filing the 1095-A?

If the IRS rejected the return for a missing 1095-A, you need to check with MarketPlace to see if you had a form 1095-A issued in error or maybe it covered a small part of the beginning of 2022. You should get your Form 1095-A by mid-February in case one was issued in error. Please check this post for more information.

If you did not purchase insurance through MarketPlace, please make sure you answer "No" for market insurance. Detailed steps are outlined by @JohnB5677 as follows:

  1. Start with Federal
  2. Choose Deductions and credits
  3. Scroll down to Medical (List additional Tax Deductions if not seen).
  4. Select the Affordable Care Act from the drop-down
  5. Select NO for the question - "Did you receive Form 1095-A for your health insurance plan?"
