My return is showing $1986 under Miscellaneous income, but I can't tell where it is coming from. On my 1040 line 1h it lists "Excess allowance" as 1986.

If I go to the Miscellaneous Income section, there are only two interviews listed as "revisit": Other income not already reported on a Form W-2 or Form 1099 Other reportable income When I open these interviews I select no to any of the questions. I cannot tell where this miscellaneous income is coming from!

Excess allowance on line 1h refers to excess housing allowance.  If the minister was paid a full housing allowance in advance but doesn't spend it all, the excess allowance in taxable income on Form 1040 line 1h.

Refer to the IRS FAQ Minister's Housing Allowance.

Yes that was it!  Thanks that was very helpful.  So frustrating when you can't find what forms these things are on!
