My return keeps getting rejected due to it saying that the SSN for my dependent is incorrect. This will be the first year I'm claiming her, so could that affect it?

It's possible that the IRS database which they get from the Social Security Administration is incorrect. You might want to check with the Social Security Administration to verify the information you are using agrees with their file. Try deleting the information and re-entering it. Sometimes that will correct the problem.

If you still can't make it work and the Social Security Administration information is the same as yours, you will have to print and mail your return to get it accepted.
