If you are filing your tax return as Married Filing Jointly and the tax return is being rejected due to your spouse's date of birth, then you need to correct the DOB for your spouse and re-file.

If the DOB is correct and the tax return is still being rejected by the IRS then you will need to call the Social Security Administration (SSA) at 1-800-772-1213 to verify their records (this is where the IRS database pulls from). If the info is wrong, please allow 4–6 weeks for correction.

The IRS will continue to reject the e-filed tax return until the problem in the IRS database's are corrected.  Your only option is to print and mail the tax return since the DOB is not part of a mailed tax return.

What is the rejection code and/or message for the rejection?

Description of error:
If 'PINTypeCd' in the Return Header has the value "Self-Select On-Line" and the filing status of the return is married filing jointly and each of the following does not have a value: ['SpecialProcessingLiteralCd' and 'CombatZoneCd' and 'SpecialProcessingCodeTxt' and 'SpouseDeathDt'], then 'SpouseBirthDt' in the Return Header must match the e-File database.
