Question

My return was rejected because of a mistake on my dependent’s return. That return has been fixed and accepted. How do I get the IRS to look at my return again?

My return doesn’t need any corrections, so I don’t believe there’s any basis for an Ammended Return.

Did your dependent say they could not be claimed and cause your own return to be rejected?  Waiting for their amended return to be processed will do no good.

You have two options.   Print sign and mail your return that claims the dependent.   Or...get an IP PIN and try to e-file.

GET IP pin in order to e-file if your dependent’s SSN was claimed on another return
