The email states “FW2-001-02 - The sum of all Form W-2s, 'WagesAmt' must not be greater than the sum of ['WagesSalariesAndTipsAmt' in the return and (sum of all Schedule C (Form 1040), 'TotalGrossReceiptsAmt' when 'StatutoryEmployeeFromW2Ind' is checked)] unless Form 8958 or Form 8839 is present in the return. When evaluating this, a tolerance of $5.00 is allowed.”

I have one W-2 for my bonus income and taxes withheld, and a second one that is for the distribution of my non qual deferred income (box 11), also with taxes withheld. Neither has the Statutory Employee box checked. Is this a bug that will be fixed? Or is there something I can fix and rerun the review?

I have the exact same thing. My return was rejected with the FW2-001-02 code.  Turbo tax included a message that said "This return cannot be filed due to a processing error related to Other Income items listed on 1040 Schedule 1 line 8. This issue will be resolved but there is currently no estimated date for when the update will be available. This message will be updated when a resolution is indentified. You have 2 options. 1) You may wait a few weeks and attempt to resubmit this return, or 2)  You may print and file the return by mail" Given these statements I'm at a bit of a loss.  Is the problem with IRS's ability to process the return with their software, and I'm waiting on their fix, or is the problem with Turbo Tax data entry and there is something that I have to fix on my return.  When I clicked on the "fix return" button, all it did was tell me my return was ready to submit.  I'm at a bit of a loss as to how to proceed.  I am the same as this person, retired with two W2's from my previous employer, one for a monthly deferred compensation pension, and another for a lump sum deferred compensation distribution. I also noticed that last year these two W2;s were reported on line 1 of my 1040, this year Turbo Tax put them on a Schedule 1, line 8T. Is there a glitch in the Turbo Tax software this year?

I am in the same position, with an apparently different treatment for the deferred compensation non-qualified plan W2 from last year and a rejected filing, and nothing in the update filing that changes this. Hoping to hear from Intuit in this before I just give up and do a printed posting.

Looks like this can be resolved (worked for me) by correcting an error in the Forms view with a duplicate box 10 $ amount (that needs to be deleted) to box 11, despite the W2 being correct. This solution was posed by another user in response to a similar query as follows:

“I had the same reject code.   I double checked my W2 entries and they were correct.  However, when I went to forms view and looked at the W2 that Turbo Tax actually filed it had an amount in Box 10 (same amount that was in box 11).  That had to be an error in Turbo Tax because my W2 was imported from my employer and, again, it did not have any entry in box 10.  That mistake affects Schedule 1 Form 1040 input T8, which adds "Other Income" to your 1040.  I believe the error is saying I had more income than what was reported for total wages tips and other compensation box 1 on my W2.   You should also check Income line 1a to be sure it agrees to what is shown on your W2's.  The fix is to edit Box 10 in Turbo Tax Forms to agree with the actual entry on your W2, in my case $0.  That seemed to fix the issue because now I no longer have "Other Income" and also line 1a now agrees with my totals from W2's.  Hopefully this helps.  I'm surprised Turbo Tax did not catch this when checking for errors before submitting a return.”
