Question

My son (18) was claimed on his mom taxes for 2019. He lived with me for all of 2020. How do we claim him to get the stimulus that we didn't receive for him?

He turned 18 in July 2020. The TT software says that my wife and I already received the full amount. We did not receive any for my son though. He is claimed as a dependent for my wife and I and not his mother.

Only dependent children under 17 years old are eligible for the additional $600 stimulus payment to the taxpayer claiming them on their taxes. Like the first round of stimulus checks in March, adult dependents are once again largely left out of being eligible for some type of aid.

However this may change with the third stimulus bill now under consideration.
