Question

My son died in 2018, and I would like to file his taxes for 2017. What do I do?

He passed away and I went to the courts to the Register of Will and received the right to file his tax return on his behalf for 2017.  How can I file with TurboTax?

TurboTax online and e-file for 2019 ended on Oct 15, 2020. 2019 (and earlier tax years) can now only be completed using the CD/download software installed on a Mac or Windows computer. The return must be printed, signed and mailed.

2017-2019 software can be purchased here:

Suggest that you read IRS Pub 559 (Survivors, Executors, and Administrators) for a lot of good information about filing the final return and estate return and other requirements.
