My son does not have any income since 2013. he is 44 yrs. he was claimed as a dependent in our filing. for him to get covid-19 1200.00, does he have to file

If he has no income, Social Security Income, or Disability income, there would be no reason to file a tax return.  There would be nothing he can put on his tax return.  There would be no income for the IRS to base the stimulus money on.

because he is a dependent on your return , he is ineligible in any event for the $1200
