My son has a w2, how do I file taxes for him?

He will have to file a separate tax return, you cannot add his income on your tax return (even if you do claim him)

He is not required to file a tax return if he is a dependent and he only has earned income less than $6,300 but if he had  taxes withheld (Box 2 W2) and he files he will get a refund.  If you are claiming him as a dependent, be sure to indicate that "someone else can claim him as a dependent"  and "someone else will claim him' in the Personal Info section so the correct exemption is applied.
