My son is trying to file e-file but it wants a state ID he Is 18 but don’t have one how can we e-file without the state ID?

This is his first time can we do e-file without it or do we have to has a picture state ID?

The IRS does not require you to enter a drivers license or state ID, so you can actually skip doing that for the federal return.  There are a few states that are really picky about entering a state ID, so if your state will not let him e-file without an ID, he can print, sign and mail his state return.
