My son's W-2 doesn't have an EIN. What should he do so he can file?

    If you do not have an EIN or and Employers state ID number on your W-2 you should go back to your employer and get a corrected W-2 with that information.  If you can't get that, then you will not be able to e-file and will have to mail in a paper return.

    I have found that if it is a big company, you can Google it or call their human resources department.
