What do you mean "wrong?" Information about who is getting the stimulus check and the amounts can be found in the links below:

What do I need to know about the coronavirus stimulus package?

Economic Impact Payments

The IRS has created a Get My Payment portal to track the progress of these payments for taxpayers. It is expected to be available beginning April 17, 2020.

from myself personally mine is not the correct amount i should have gotten a total of 3400 for both me, my husband and 2 kids. we filed a 2019 tax return married filing jointly and claimed both of our kids but only received the extra 500 for only one child. we got 2900 instead of 3400

April 15, 2020

Same here

April 15, 2020

Ours is, too. Instead of $2400, it is $2138.90.  I thought that was very strange. We are well within the income limit and no fees should’ve been withheld.  And we haven’t filed for 2019 yet, so it is not a tax refund.

If your income exceeds the thresholds $150000 for married filing jointly, the amount will be reduced on a sliding scale.

I have been following this post since this morning. There is definitely a problem. My SIL did not get $500 for either of his 2 children and his income falls below the threshold. I saw it also posted in a Portland newspaper online as well. Yet there is no one to call to get help for this. Now what?

April 15, 2020

Mine is too. We are a married couple that files jointly. We have a one year old as a dependent. Received $2400 instead of $2900.

April 15, 2020

We received $3400, but we have 3 dependents. one born in November 2019, we filed our 2019 taxes in January and received refund in February. so IRS should have correct info

April 15, 2020

Yes we received 3400.  It should be 3900, becasue we filed our 2019 taxes Feb 15th and it had all three dependents claimed.  Its like they went off our 2018 returns??

April 15, 2020

Has anybody gotten any new information on this? i have two kids one born in 1/2018 and the other in 9/2019 and claimed both on our married filing jointly 2019 taxes but only received 2900 when it should have been 3400?? & there really is no way to contact the IRS about it bc they aren’t taking phone calls

April 15, 2020

I'm in the exact same boat as you.  Our second child was born 8/12/19.  Even though we filed for him on our taxes, we only received $2900 as well.

April 15, 2020

I did not receive the $500 for each of my qualified dependants. Others have received there's. Why didn't I receive mines?

April 15, 2020

How old are your dependents?

If they are under age 17 at the end of the tax year, you will receive an additional $500 for them.

Why at the end of the tax year? My other daughter received the money for her two dependents. Some people are not even though the dependents were included on their 2019 taxes.

April 15, 2020

My stimulus check was incorrect as well. I didn't get  $500 for each dependants. So far I haven't found a site to go to, to get answers.

April 15, 2020

The calculated my amount as well and it is not correct based on adjust gross income   I received a very odd amount and do not think it includes the $500 for either one of my kids who are dependents. .

April 15, 2020

We had our second kid in 2018 and we are below the threshold for married filing jointly (sliding scale doesn’t not apply, children ages 1.5 and 5) and we also only got payment for 1 kid instead of 2. We got $2900 instead of the $3400 we were expecting.

Please check your tax return to be sure the newest little blessing was listed as living with you all 12 months even if they were born part way through the year (or even DECEMBER!!)
Can I claim a new born baby on my taxes

April 16, 2020

Turbo Tax keeps deleting mynpost but I think I have the answer. Turbo Tax asked everyone an awkwardly worded question about how long your child lived with your in 2019. IF YOU SAID ANY ANSWER BESIDES THE WHOLE YEAR it checked off the Other dependent box instead of the Child Tax Credit box in the dependents section. For this stimulus check, the IRS was looking to see if you had that Child Tax Credit box checked.  If not, you didnt get the $500. Go amend your taxes!

Same here. My wife and I filed jointly for 2019 as soon as we could claiming both our children. One born in 2017 and the other born in October, 2019. Got our truck back 2 months ago. We also only received $2900 instead of $3400. Worst part is there is not one number you can call or one person to speak with. IRS is not taking calls and all local offices have been closed.

For security reasons, the IRS plans to mail a letter about the economic impact payment to the taxpayer’s last known address within 15 days after the payment is paid. The letter will provide information on how the payment was made and how to report any failure to receive the payment.

April 27, 2020

Just got the letter - it doesn't tell you anything about what to do if you feel it is wrong.  Tried to call the 800-number for more information, but it is just an endless loop of recordings.

I had twins born in June 2019. My check did not include either of the children and was only 1200. Is there anything I can do to let the IRS know they didn’t send the correct amount? Both children were on my tax return.

My daughter is 17 (turned 17 in 2019), and a full time highschool student.  Should I expect to receive $500 for her?

No, she is not eligible for the $500 tax credit since she was older than 16 in 2019.
