My tax return has been rejected it states I need to fill out the 8962 form I don’t understand why Turbo tax didn’t give me that option before filing can I fix this?

Yes you can fix this.  Since your return has been rejected, it is considered Not Filed yet.  You will need to correct the rejection based on the instructions provided with the rejection notice, then resubmit the return for e-file.

 

When you enter the information from form 1095-A, it will generate form 8962 for you.  Here is how:

 

TurboTax can prepare Form 8962 - Premium Tax Credit (PTC) for you. 

Enter the 1095-A form you received into your return.  TurboTax will calculate Form 8962 for you.  To do this, please follow these steps:

  1. In the Search box at the top right of your screen, type 1095-a and click the magnifying glass.
  2. In the search results, you will see Jump to 1095-a.  Click this link--it will take you to the entry screen for the form.

Form 8962 - Premium Tax Credit is required when someone on your tax return had health insurance in 2021 through Healthcare.gov (or a state marketplace) and took the Advance Premium Tax Credit to lower their monthly premium.
