Question

My tax return keeps stating that I have an incomplete 1040 form. I'm not using a 1040 though, and am not a business owner.

I am just a single filer on social security. I filled out my taxes the way I always do, but this time it's stating that I have empty values for some 1040 form. I have not used a 1040, and never indicated that I had a 1040 form or used one. Help?

The 1040 is the tax return you are filling out and send to the IRS.  If you only get Social Security you do not have to file a return.  SS is not taxable and you can't file a return with no income on it.  Why are you trying to file?  If you need to file to qualify for the Stimulus you need to enter $1 of interest to let you file.  Make up a fake 1099Int.

Enter a 1099-Int under

Put $1 interest amount in box 1
