My TT 2024 Desktop cannot open

TT 2024 was installed in February 2025.  I was able to use it to file my tax.

I tried to open it today and I am getting "Looks like we've run into an error" message.

I have done the followings:

1. Uninstall and re-install TT 2024.

2. Installed the latest version of MS C++.

3. Installed the patch mentioned in one of the Q&A.

4. Rebooted multiple times.

I still cannot open my TT 2024.  Please help.

Thank you in advance for your assistance and guidance.

Issue was resolved.

With great help from the TurboTax helpdesk, they advised me to do the "Repair" on my both Microsoft Visual C++.

I have the following versions:

  1. Microsoft Visual C++ 2015-2022 Redistributable (x64) - 14.42.34433 AND 14.42.34438.

In Control Panel, I clicked on the program name and clicked "Change" tab.  In the pop-up, I clicked the "Repair" button.

I am now able to open my TT 2024.  YEAH!!!

Hi DawnC,

Thank you for sharing that information.  Unfortunately, I already gone through that and it did not work.☹

I hope the Helpdesk can help.  Thanks.

BTW.  For whatever it's worth, I was able to open my TT 2023 without any issue.
