Question

My TurboTax discount is supposed to be 20% but is less than that

I have clicked through to the website for TurboTax online and it is giving me a discount, but it is not 20%, which is what the Fidelity splash page promises "save 20% however you choose to file."

But TurboTax wants to charge me $107.10 for TurboTax Premium, said to be a discount off of $129.  But that is not 20% off.

And the start page says TurboTax tops out at $119, not $129. And says the discounted fee should be $95.20.

I have tried logging out and deleted cookies and returning. Any other help?

Could be sales tax on the $95.

Nope, sales taxes added on top of that.

I suspect the Fidelity offer is really "up to 20%," not a full 20%, but then it should say that. And dunno why it starts out saying TT Premier full price is $119 and then later claims it's really $129.

You need to access TurboTax on Fidelity to get the discount.

I am having the same issue. I tried calling customer service but the agent was stuck on the point that a discount has already been applies so that's it, and refused to acknowledge that the discount level should be higher. Any solutions or alternatives. Feels like a rip-off #2 after their 'Free Filing' marketing.

Yep, I eventually just gave up and paid what it said.

Not the biggest deal in the world, but not right, either. You'd think people who make accounting software would know how to calculate 20% correctly! (And not jack up the earlier listed price too, for that matter.)
