Question

My Vehicle Registration fees are not being counted in the final deductions and credits

Last year I paid registration fees in Wyoming and then again in North Carolina when I moved. On 2019s taxes it shows the $89 deduction for Wyoming on the final "deductions and credits" page. In 2020, I had $89 for Wyoming and $297 for North Carolina. However, a $0 is showing in the 2020 final "deductions and credits" page." I had the standard deduction in 2019 and will again use that in the 2020.

Why is that $89+$297, or $386, not showing up in the 2020 "deductions and credits" page of TT this time around but rather $0?

Thanks in advance.

Your car registration fees would not be deductible if you are using the standard deduction.

Even so, the amounts should show up in TurboTax as car registration fees. If you do not see them, try entering the amounts under Personal Property Taxes right below Car Registration Fees in Cars and Other Things You Own.
