My wife passed in March and I remarried in Sept.How do I show this?

You file as married filing jointly with your new wife. You do not enter anything about your previous wife on the joint return.


If your deceased wife is required to file, you or whoever is her executor has to file a separate tax return for her as married filing separately.

You file jointly with your new wife and you file a return for your deceased spouse as Married filing separately if she is required to file.
