My wife will not give me her social security number so I can I file married but filing separately

Yes but you will have to print and mail it if you don't have her ssn. She doesn't want to file Joint with you? Joint is usually the best way to file even if you are separated.

If you are unable to obtain your wife's social security number you will need to print and mail your return with a note stating that you have attempted to obtain the number from her, and as much information as you have on her (name, address, phone number, etc.)

You will not be able to e-file without this information.
