When entering the "Name of Payer" should I list the name of the mutual fund I received the dividends from or the overarching institution (Fidelity Investments)

    If you bought the funds directly from the mutual fund company (e.g. Fidelity), list the name of the mutual fund (e.g. Magellan), as that will match the tax ID number on the 1099-DIV.  If you bought it/hold in a brokerage account, list the name of the broker.
