Tips:

• If you are getting both Federal and state refunds, they come separately.  
• For the Federal refund, go by what is shown on your Form 1040, Line 35a.   Do not go by the summary figure shown on the Tax Home in TurboTax, which is a net figure after totaling both Federal and state.
• If you chose to pay any TurboTax fees out of your Federal refund, subtract the product fees.  There is an additional $40 service fee ($45 for California filers) deducted for that option (if applicable).
• If the IRS reduced your refund due to a calculation error or offset, the IRS will send you a letter in about 3 weeks or so explaining it.
