No, it is unlikely that the IRS will send the refund check that you never received to your current bank account.  You need to contact the IRS so that they can put a trace on your missing refund check.  The IRS recommends that if you lost your refund check, you should initiate a refund trace.  In this regard, the IRS also recommends that you call them at 800-829-1954 (toll-free) and either use the automated system or speak with an agent. However, if you filed a married filing jointly return, you can't initiate a trace using the automated systems.

Included below is a link to an IRS webpage that discusses what a taxpayer should do in the event a refund check was never received.  You may find this information helpful as you work to retrieve your missing refund check.

It is unlikely that the IRS will correct your return to reflect the missing W-2 income.   It is possible that the IRS will send you a letter indicating that your return is not consistent with your tax documents on file.  In other words, the IRS has a copy of the W-2 income you inadvertently failed to include on your return and they will likely want you to explain the reason(s) why your return does not reflect all of your income sources.

It would appear that the best option for you now is to wait and see whether the IRS "accepts" your return.  If you do receive a notice of acceptance, that will be your opportunity to file an amended return and include your missing W-2 income.  You can file an amended return in TurboTax.  If you used TurboTax Online, simply log in to your account and select “Amend a return that was filed and accepted.” (Notice how TurboTax states that your return was not only filed but "accepted.")

If you used our CD/download product, sign back into your return and select “Amend a filed return.”  Amended returns can take more than three months for the IRS to process.
