Need to file taxes for deceased parents. how do i proceed

You will be able to prepare and file tax returns for your parents using TurboTax. 

The tax year in which they passed will be the final year a return(s) would be prepared.  I

If they passed in 2021, 2020 is not the final year, you would prepare 2020 returns as they normally would indicating you are signing with court authority. 

If your parents passed in 2020, you want to ensure you have all tax documents as the 2020 return will be the final tax return filed. 

TurboTax has fields in MyInfo where names and address are entered to enter dates of death and label where appropriate in the return that it is a final return. 

You may  need to complete Form 1310 Statement of Person Claiming Refund Due to a Deceased Taxpayer to receive any  refund.
