You need to add expenses to your 2023 return?  You need to amend 2023.  Being that you need to use the Desktop program you won’t need to upgrade to a higher version.

You can't move your W-2 to a Schedule C.  When you have income from a W-2 it's because you're an employee and you don't get to deduct expenses from your W-2 income on your federal return.

You complete Schedule C when you're self-employed or as an independent contractor and you are allowed to deduct your expenses from that income.

Review the TurboTax article Am I an employee or an independent contractor? for more information.
