New laptop for taxes this year

I am using a new laptop for doing my 2024 taxes. previous laptop had previous (2023 i used the turbo tax cd for that year) files on it, but it is inoperative. how do i get my 2023 files? they don't show in the my 'account' in turbo tax online!!

If you used desktop download software for your 2023 return, your 2023 tax file is stored on the hard drive of the old laptop or whatever backup device you used like a flash drive. It is not stored in an online account. Can you still get it from the old laptop?

If you cannot recover them due to a hard drive failure, etc. you can get a free transcript from the IRS or for a fee of $30 an actual copy of your tax return.
