hello!

I just got married and am going to change my name with the social security office in 4 days. My w2 and 1099 still have my old name. Should I hurry and file with my old name before Friday when I change my name with the SSA? Or, is it okay if I want and my W2 does not match my new last name?

The name that you enter on your tax return must match the name on your Social Security card. If you file your taxes in your old name, you should wait until your tax return is processed before you change your name with the Social Security Office. This will avoid any delays.
