No Apartment Number for Address

You need to fix program getting stuck in a loop asking for an Apartment Number. My daughter and our Grandchildren live with us, a single family residence, so her filing does not include being a homeowner so the program asks for an Apartment Number during checks even at final filling and will NOT accept a blank entry. We had to enter none before we could proceed and file . I am sure we are not the only family with this situation. This is not the first year you have had this problem with your program.

Thank you for sharing this information.  We will work to resolve this issue for others that might be having a similar experience in the program.

This is still a problem and has not been fixed.

For further details: the primary problem is that when you enter your address info in the form, if you delete the apartment number, it does *not* remove the "APT" selection from the state income tax form (at least not for Oregon, which I just completed). The easiest fix is for TurboTax to simply unlock the "APT, Suite, etc" dropdown selector (the selector and text input should be considered a field grouping), so when the form is flagged in review as needing an apartment number, users can simply change the dropdown to remove the apartment.

Per other forum posts on this issue, putting "n/a" bypasses the review and allows you to file, but that means I just filed with an address of "123 EXAMPLE AVE APT N/A". I'm assuming this won't cause any major issue, but I expect Intuit's support if I get in trouble with my state's revenue service.

@gitbisect The information on the federal return is carried over to the state return. You have to make personal information changes on Federal in TurboTax.

This is happening to me as well. Spent over an hour on the phone with TT this morning and was told they had never seen this come up before, however this is clearly not true because a simple google search suggests this has been happening for years.

I don't know what the glitch with the program is but I will also be forced to put n/a or none in the apartment portion which is completely idiotic, and incorrect.

TT - you really need to figure out how to fix this. I re-entered my W2s manually and re-entered all my *non*apartment addresses to no avail. Super frustrating waste of time.

This is still an issue with the state form. I've tried updating my profile address several times (homeowner) but continue to get an error in my state return that the apartment number is missing. I guess I'll try "N/A" in the APRT number text box as another user suggested, but quite frustrating that there's not an option to list your type of residency anywhere....

Yes that would be best to put NA.

I found a workaround! In the state field, simple hit the space key, and that took care of it! The error cleared!

What state field did you hit the space key on? I'm having a hard time getting this cleared. Thank you!

    Still not fixed.

You can enter your apartment number in the Personal Information part of your return.

    1. Open your return
    2. Go to the Personal Information
    3. Open your address and phone section and Edit your information

See the images below for your reference:

This is still an issue. Moved from OR to WA and no longer live in an apartment. It won’t let me move forward without an apartment number. Just going to put n/a in the apartment field and hope for the best
