Question

No HSA but Turbotax keeps asking me about a HDHP

My husband and I are filing jointly. I mistakenly entered he had an HSA, but he actually had an FSA in 2023. I went back to select that neither he nor I had an HSA, MSA, or Medicare Advantage MSA, but after clicking CONTINUE, it keeps asking about a HDHP, and TT is not saving our "none of the above" selection for the type of health-related account.  Does anyone know how to fix this? Thank you for your help.

Check you W-2 box 12. An entry in box 12 with code W means your employer contributed to an HSA on your behalf.

If that's not true, contact your employer and ask them to correct your W-2 form.

To revisit the HSA section to change your entries if you accidently checked that you have an HSA account:

  1. Open your return:
  2. Select Deductions and Credits under Federal Taxes
  3. Scroll down to Medical
  4. Click revisit next to HSA, MSA Contributions
  5. On the screen Your HSA summary click Edit
