Hi I started a new S-Corp in 2019 for my practice... however, I had no income... all expenses on a business credit card with my company's name AND my name on it. I did have some 1099 income related to my practice but under my own name... what can I do with all the expenses tax-wise?

have you started your s-corp business - sending out ads or something else to get customers?  if not your business wasn't started in 2019 and those expenses will be deductible in 2020 as start-up expenses. if you did strat actively seeking business in 2019, then they are deductible as start-up or other expenses assuming you have basis.  basis is the cash and property you put into the corp.  credit card debt is not basis since the money is owed to the CC company not you.  in addition, it would be best to have a credit card in the business name only and which is only used for the business.  the issue is if you are ever audited, the IRS will have a much easier time challenging expense deductibility if it looks like an expense could be personal.   it would be worth you while to have a professional prepare the first year return and take you through the dos, don't and musts of theoperation of the Corp. One would be the need to take salaries and file payroll tax returns. Another could be whether under state law you need to carry workmen's compensation insurance.  you are an employee of the corp and many states require that the business carry the insurance or face substantial penalties.  Another issue,  is what you sell subject to sales tax and therefore the need to collect and file sales tax returns.  Mess up the first year and it becomes expensive to fix.
