Hello,

I am trying to get transcript of my taxes for immigration purpose. I can not see my 2016 returns in IRS account and I can see a form called "Verification of non-filing ". Does it mean that my tax return was not accepted by IRS. I had earned around 200$ that year and around 10$ were withholded. Do i need to file the 2016 taxes again ?

No, don't file again because it wouldn't be worth it. You wouldn't be able to get a refund for the $10 anyway.

@DaveF1006 Will there be any issues of not filing for that year. My guess is my gross income was below the minimum requirement of filing. So legally I am not required to file . If i would have filed, i think i might have got 10$ back Thats all. Is that right ?

No, there should be no issues for you not filing. You did not owe the federal government because if you did file, you would have received back your $10. Also, since you were below the filing threshold, you were not required to file a tax return.
