NY state saying "The information you have entered does not match our records." but the info entered is correct

There are several reasons you would get the message "The information you entered does not match our records". Here are some things to do to make sure the information is as accurate.

• If you e-filed your return, make sure the return was e-filed successfully and accepted. Re-check your e-file status.

• Make sure to enter the amount of your federal refund only. This sum would not include your state tax refund (provided you received one), nor would it include any fees.

• If you are married filing jointly, try using the first Social Security Number that appears on the return. 

If you have tried all of the above and you still get the same message, you can contact the IRS directly for more information regarding the status of your refund.
