On my return it asks for my employer's SSN. It has capital XXX-XX 9027

It says they don't match but they do

For income tax purposes, the IRS needs the employer number on file with them so they could match it to your reported tax documents.  X's aren't allowed. You need to ask your employer for their Tax Identification Number. Generally it's in the 12-1234567 format.
