How can I file my state return? The software for Federal and State only works for Federal. It is not able to obtain the Connecticut return. Please help so I can file my State of Connecticut taxes as well. Thank you.

    It depends.

Are you using the online version or desktop version?

If you are using the online version, you can add the state return as follows.

After you have completed your federal return, select State in the left black panel.

Be sure you select your state and go through the entire interview section.  If your state is not listed, select Add Another State.

If you are in the desktop software, you can follow the instructions in the link below to add your state return.

Assuming you are using the Desktop program.  What is happening?  Were you able to fill out the state return by going through the State tab?  But can't efile it?  Or you can't download the state program?  Where are you stuck?

If you can't start your state return see

Did you already file federal?   Try this,  You might first need to update your program with the federal efile status.  Go up  to FILE - Electronic Filing - Check Electronic Filing Status.  Then save your return, go to FILE - SAVE.  Then close your return and reopen it and go though the File TAB again to file state.

There is a 24.99 fee to efile the state return.  Or you can print and mail state for free.
