I received a signing bonus from my employer in 2019 and had to pay them back half the signing bonus at the beginning of 2021 because I had left the firm prior to the 2-year mark. I read through some posts in this community and understand that I will need to file a Section 1341 Claim of Right to get my taxes back that I had paid in 2019.
My question is: Do I need to wait until 2022 when I file my 2021 taxes to complete Section 1341 and get my taxes back?
