Paying taxes on Ebay items.

I bought a 6 month old computer off Ebay. The original owner bought it from Apple Computer and paid the taxes on it. Why must I pay taxes again on it? Taxes were already paid.

    In order to raise revenue different jurisdictions charge a fee every time money changes hands.  They call this sales tax.
