    What is the question?

TT will automatically transfer your data from the prior year. If you save it somewhere besides the default TT path, you will have to choose the file or folder to transfer the data from.

Some individual with nothing better to do found a way to get ito my PC claiming it was Microsoft even with a nice logo.  They did something which removed my prior year's Turbo Tax data file so normal transfer routine will not work.  I filed my returns electronically and I am wondering if Intuit, Federal IRS or State maintain anything which would assist me.  Yes, I should have backed it up on an external drive; a big mistake on my part.    The water is now over the dam and the cows are loose.  What can I do?

Intuit doesn't keep a copy of your return if you use the desktop software.  It looks like you'll have to manually enter everything from last year.

In the good news column you can get a transcript of your return from the IRS.  You will need to go to the IRS website and create an account and prove your identity.  But once you do that you are able to download tax returns for the last several years.

Here's where to create your account.

Sorry you're dealing with all that.
