Property & HOA Taxes with Joint Ownership

My partner and I bought a house this year under both our names. We are not married and file separately.  Should we both file the property tax this year or just one of us? Can we also file our HOA payments?

Whoever paid the tax would claim the payments

If you both paid, each claim the amount they paid

HOA payments are not deductible, however your portion of the tax and any mortgage interest the HOA paid may be claimed by you.

Is there a tax document that shows who paid the taxes?

No, you would use your own records.

You both could plan for next year, one of you pay and claim things that can be deducted, like home mortgage interest and taxes, and the other pay utilities.
