Re-Install CD TurboTax on a new computer - a different problem

OK, I have a TurboTax CD for Windows - and a week ago, I installed in on my Laptop.

However, within a couple of days I started having HD problems on the Laptop.  It is 6 years old, so I figured it was time to get a new computer instead of waiting and hoping the HD did not give out on me.  I ended up getting a Desktop, BUT it does not have a CD drive (yes, everyone is going online now).

So I am wondering if there is a way to sort of convert the CD license to an online license so that I can get  TurboTax 2023 downloaded onto my new Desktop.

Maybe an alternative: I do have an OLD external CD reader, but not used for over 6 years since my Laptop had a CD reader, so I don't know if it will even work.  And also wondering if I would run into licensing problems in trying to re-install the CD copy on a new computer, since I have already installed it on the old computer.
