Reassessment in progress as I submitted same file twice in 15 min to Netfile

Hi,

I submitted on March 14, 2020 my taxes for 2019 using Netfile and printed the confirmation number.

After that I clicked on get the assessment information  from CRA directly, which sent me to CRA website to log in (inside TurboTax software). At this time I decided not to login on CRA website and I closed the window which made TurboTax froze.

I shut down manually TurboTax, and after starting TurboTax again, I submitted to Netfile again (15 min after first submission) and I got the same confirmation number from CRA.

As of April 15, 2020 the CRA website displays my 2019 taxes with "Reassessment in progress" status (however I have no "Assessed"status).

How long it will take CRA to process my 2019 taxes? Do you know when I will get the refund money back?

What was the appropriate process to cancel my interaction with CRA to avoid TurboTax freezing? Why did TurboTax allow me to submit twice if that creates an issue on CRA side?

BTW, the version I have is "TurboTax Standard 2019" but you don't have "Standard" in the drop-down, so I've selected "Basic".  I think it is appropriate for you to update your drop-down to reflect the product selection you sell.

Thanks!

When submitting to Netfile again, Refile may have been chosen, which would create a reassessment. What is ReFILE?

The Canada Revenue Agency (CRA), suggests that you wait until you’ve received your Notice of Assessment (NOA) before filing an adjustment (ReFILE). Since you already had a confirmation number of the return being Netfiled, waiting 2 days and verifying your CRA MyAccount to see it was being assessed, would have been the preferred process to follow.

How can I check on the status of my tax return?

Here are the links for our TurboTax editions for Online and CD/Download where the Standard edition is available:

https://turbotax.intuit.ca/personal-tax-software/download-tax-software.jsp

https://turbotax.intuit.ca/personal-tax-software/online-tax-software.jsp

To go from Basic to Standard from within your return, you would go to the bottom of the left side menu and click on UPGRADE then chose Standard.

How do I contact the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA)?
