I received a 1099-NEC for the first 4 month of employment and then was transfered to a w2 employee. How to I file my 1099-NEC?

It depends. An employer is required to report all income on a W-2 for an employee.  If you had some kind of subcontract agreement before you officially became an employee, then the 1099-NEC might be considered self employment.

If you don't want to cause any issue for your employer you can enter the 1099-NEC as self employment income. It's possible you may have expenses you can use against that income. Review the link below for expense details and how to enter your income for the 1099-NEC.

Enter your W-2 under Income and Expenses by selecting Job (W-2).
