Hello,

I filed my federal electronically 2/14/21 and have not gotten a refund. When I check with the IRS it states in progress but does not give a date and this has been going on for 3 weeks. Of course, can never get through on the phone to speak with someone. Any suggestions

Coronavirus and the implementation of two major tax laws are bogging down IRS operations. IRS telephone support is inconsistent.

The IRS says that it will issue 9 out of 10 refunds to taxpayers in less than 21 days. However, many taxpayers are experiencing the same delay that you are experiencing.

I have a client who I e-filed on 02/13/2021 and he has exactly the same experience. I have prepared his return for years and there is no issue on the return or in his tax history that I can see that would explain why he is experiencing a delay.
